Borehole

A Borehole is a deep and narrow hole that is bored beneath the ground during a geotechnical evaluation of a design for the installation of underground services. The Borehole can be horizontal or vertical in direction to collect soil, water, and rock samples, and may be constructed for many different purposes, including the extraction of water, other liquids or gases for the geotechnical investigation, environmental site assessment, mineral exploration as well as for the underground storage of unwanted substances such as the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
