Cavitation

A Cavitation is a formation and rapid collapse of cavities or bubbles of vapour or gas within a liquid resulting from mechanical or hydrodynamic forces. According to the Bernoulli Equation this may happen when the fluid accelerates in a control valve or around a pump impeller.
