Iridium (Ir)

Iridium (Ir) is a chemical element with atomic number (Z) 77, group 9, period 6, and atomic weight 192.217. The Iridium (Ir) is a hard, brittle, lustrous, dense, transition metal of the platinum family that is silvery-white and it is notable for being the most corrosion resistant element known, used for the electronic industry, the automotive industry and from the chemical industry, where it is used to coat the electrodes in the chlor-alkali process, and in catalyst.
