Magnesium (Mg) is a chemical element with atomic number (Z) 12, group 2, period 3, and atomic weight 24.305. The Magnesium (Mg) is silvery white and very light that is very chemically active, used as the lighter structural metal and refractory material in furnace linings for producing metals (iron and steel, nonferrous metals), glass, and cement.
