Oxygenate is to add oxygen to chemical compound when added to gasoline, increase the amount of oxygen in that gasoline blend. A MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether), ETBE (Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether), and methanol and Fuel Ethanol are common oxygenates.
