A Teflon (Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)) is the synthetic fluoropolymer derived from tetrafluoroethylene that is hydrophobic, non-wetting, high density and resistant to high temperatures, and has numerous applications. The Teflon is a registered trademark of the Chemours. Chemours is a spin-off of DuPont Co., which discovered the compound in 1938. The Teflon is a strong, nonflammable and non-chemical reactions with other substances used in industry as fabricated into industrial products, including bearings, pipe liners, and parts for valves and pumps as well as a coating on nonstick cookware.
