A Main Automation Contractor (MAC) is a single responsible contractor for instrumentation, control and control system, information, and safety aspects of the project who works as a partner with the end user and manages the plant automation solution. A MAC identifies all automation activities, develops an execution plan, obtains the best resources, selects the best technologies, implements design and engineering, supplies programmes and hardware, and installs assembles in achieving the complete automation solution in an efficient and effective manner.
