Blast Proof

A Blast Proof refers to the Explosion Proof. (Explosion Proof (or Blast Proof) is the capable of withstanding an internal explosion without allowing flames or hot gases to escape and initiate an explosion in the adjacent atmosphere. The term Explosion Proof must be assigned to the products that are certified by competent authorities after passing prescribed tests. The NEC® includes definitions for several types of protection techniques acceptable when designing products for use in hazardous (classified) locations: Explosion proof, dust ignition proof, dust tight, purged/pressurised, intrinsically safe, and hermetically sealed. These definitions set the criteria that must be met by all components installed in hazardous (classified) locations.)
