A. Definition

Allowance is an incremental resource included in estimate to cover expected further growth such as design development but undefined requirements for individual accounts or sub-accounts. The allowance is a part of the basic estimate.

Construction Allowance is the construction cutting waste quantities for the construction fabrication or prefabrication mistakes, errors, and losses. The Construction bulk materials are supplied with manufacturer’s standard size and length, but the construction drawings are generated based on the actual process requirements and dimensional plot sizes. The Construction Allowance (Construction Cutting Waste) quantities of an industrial, company, or specific project standard (additional ratios of each bulk items) should be added to the engineering BM (Bill of Material) for the procurement.

Material Take-Off (MTO) Allowance is the quantity for growth in estimated quantities of the bulk material and tagged items that is expressed as a percentage of the base quantity (net MTO) to account.
