Lead (Pb) is a chemical element in the carbon group and atomic number (Z) 82, group 14, period 6, and atomic weight 207.2. The Lead (Pb) is very soft, ductile, and a relatively poor conductor of electricity that is a bluish-white lustrous metal, and very resistant to corrosion but tarnishes upon exposure to air. Lead pipes bearing the insignia of Roman emperors, and the Tetraethyl lead (PbEt4) was used in some grades of petrol, and Lead’s four stable isotopes each have 82 protons in the nuclear shell model of atomic nuclei.
