MT or MPT (Magnetic Particle Testing)

A Magnetic Particle Testing (MT or MPT) is one of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) techniques that is popular and low-cost method for the ferromagnetic material which is defined in ASME Section V as a term applied to materials that can be magnetised or strongly attracted by a magnetic field. A MT checks for the surface discontinuities but can also reveal discontinuities slightly below the surface.
