Natural Disaster

Natural Disaster is any catastrophic event that is naturally occurring physical phenomena caused either by rapid or slow onset events of the earth. The Natural Disaster can be: earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis and volcanic activity as the geophysical processes; floods; extreme temperatures: drought and wildfires; cyclones or typhoons and storms; disease epidemics and insect or animal plagues, etc. The severity of a disaster is measured in lives lost, economic loss, and the ability of the population to rebuild. Events that occur in unpopulated areas are not considered disasters. (Refer to the Human Made Disaster)
