Positive Displacement Compressors

A Positive Displacement Compressor is the reciprocating piston type of compressor that compresses the air by the displacement of a mechanical linkage reducing the volume. Reciprocating (Piston) Compressors, Rotary Screw Compressors, Rotary Vane Compressors, and Scroll Compressors are all positive displacement compressors.
