SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) Risk Assessment

A Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) Risk Assessment often involve multiple companies (owners, contractors, subcontractors and vendors), large multi-disciplined workforces and a wide range of daily, 24 hour, routine and non-routine construction and commissioning activities. It is important to consider SIMOPs when planning activities. In many cases SIMOPs in the field are controlled using a bridging document but where this is not the case due consideration must be made to ensure the additional hazards are adequately controlled. An RA should be conducted to identify and mitigate against any additional hazards present. The permit to work process can provide control of hazardous or complex work activities only when they all take place on board the vessel. (Source: http://ims.craig-group.com/)
