A Geologic Hazard is the extreme natural events which occur irregularly in time and space and cause negative impact on man and the environment. These hazards consist of sudden phenomena (e.g., earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis (tidal waves) and landslides), and slow phenomena (e.g., ground settlement, etc.).
