Monazite is a brownish-red or yellowish-brown monoclinic crystals substance consisting of a phosphate (PO4) of cerium (Ce), lanthanum (La), thorium (Th), other rare earth elements. The Monazite is the radioactive material and occurs usually in small isolated crystals of the alpha decay separated by heating of thorium and uranium, monazite contains helium that should not be stored with minerals that are damaged by radiation because of its radioactivity.
