COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019)

The World Health Organization (WHO) says the official name for the disease caused by the new coronavirus is COVID-19, short for “coronavirus disease 2019″. The new coronavirus, COVID-19, can be transmitted from person to person and is spread primarily through contact with an infected person via respiratory droplets generated when a person coughs or sneezes, similar to other coronaviruses that cause the common cold and the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The most effective way to limit infection, according to WHO, is practicing good hygiene, including washing your hands frequently with soap and water or an alcohol-based rub, and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. The COVID-19 vaccine may be available in 18 months.
