Alkylation

An Alkylation is a secondary refining process for combining isobutane with light olefins (propylene and butylene, etc.) in the presence of a strong acid catalyst, usually sulphuric acid or hydrofluoric acid. The Alkylate is an output of the Alkylation reaction.
