Shadow Banking

Shadow Banking system is the financial activities such as lending or investing money carried out by organisations that participate in creating credit but operate outside the regulatory framework governing traditional banks. This alternative financial system has experienced substantial growth in the 21st century. As of 2019, estimates placed its industry size at over $100 trillion in total assets, with shadow banking entities providing more than 80% of corporate loans. (Refer to the Shadow Economy)
