Hydrogen Chloride (HCl)

Hydrogen Chloride (HCl) is a gas at room temperature and pressure that is a colourless to slightly yellow gas with a pungent, irritating odour. A HCl solution of the gas in water is called hydrochloric acid that is made from a hydrogen atom and a chlorine atom, which are joined by a covalent bond. A HCl forms corrosive hydrochloric acid on contact with water.
