Occupational Injury

An Occupational Injury is any personal injury, disease or death including a cut, fracture, sprain, amputation, etc., or any fatality, which results from a work related activity or from an exposure involving a single incident in the work environment, such as deafness from explosion, one-time chemical exposure, back disorder from a slip or trip, insect or snake bite. Common causes of Industrial Occupational Injuries are poor ergonomics, manual handling of heavy loads, misuse or failure of equipment, exposure to general hazards, inadequate safety training and clothing.
