VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds)

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) are any organic (carbon containing) compounds that have a high vapour pressure at ordinary room temperature. Many VOCs are human made chemicals that contribute significantly to smog production and certain health problems. The VOCs are compounds of fuels, solvents, hydraulic fluids, paint thinners, and dry-cleaning agents commonly used in urban settings, and their contamination of drinking water supply a human-health concern because many are toxic and are known or suspected human the formation of cancer.
