Cadmium (Cd)

Cadmium (Cd) is a chemical element with atomic number (Z) 48, group 12, period 5, and atomic weight 112.414. The Cadmium (Cd) is a lustrous, silver-white, ductile metal that is similar in many respects to zinc but it forms more complex compounds, used in Ni-Cd batteries, and for pigments, coatings and plating, and as stabilizers for plastics.
