The Gulf of Mexico (GOM) is an ocean basin and a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by the North American continent that is managed the responsible development of oil and gas and mineral resources from the eastern part of the coast of Texas to the western coast of Florida. The GOM Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) is divided into the Western, Central, and Eastern Planning Areas.
