Impact Pathway (IP)

An Impact Pathway (IP) is a sequence of steps to be follow in order to translate residual generation to monetary estimates of particular forms of damage. An IP is the contribution of research outputs towards development outcomes, accompanied by a learning, monitoring and evaluation system that is a bottom-up-approach in which environmental benefits and costs are estimated by following the source emissions via quality changes of air, soil and water to physical impacts, before being expressed in monetary benefits and costs.
