Linear Energy Transfer (LET)

Linear Energy Transfer (LET) is measure of the ability of biological material to absorb ionizing radiation; radiation energy lost per unit length of a path through a biological material. In general, the higher the LET value, the greater the relative biological effectiveness of the radiation in that material.
