The Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) is the number of lost time injuries occurred during the reporting period that gives a picture of how safe a workplace is for its workers. In many countries, the figure is typically calculated per 1,000,000 hours worked. A LTIFR is considered a lagging indicator, as the results are more meaningful when measured across a large group of workers.
