Material Flow Analysis (MFA)

Material Flow Analysis (MFA) is a systematic assessment of the flows and stocks of materials within a system that defines in space and time. A MFA evaluates material management performance in recycling and treatment facilities based on the law of matter conservation and defined by a geographic system boundary, a time span within which the analysis is performed, processes depict human activities, and flows of the goods, matter, or energy.
