Maximum Potential Quantity

Maximum Potential Quantity is the maximum designed capacity of a facility under its physical and operational design that is the maximum amount of a chemical to be released from a process containment system. The quantity is different from often much greater than both the typical chemical inventory and design maximum inventory for a containment system that may be an isolated pressure vessel and associated piping or two or more interconnected and communicating vessels without isolation capability.
