Metadata

Metadata is the informative data that describes additional information about a certain item's content. The Metadata provides information about the title, subject, author, typeface, enhancements, and size of the data file of a document, etc. Metadata can be used for a variety of purposes, such as indexing, cataloguing, searching, and retrieving data that can be divided into descriptive metadata, structural metadata, and administrative metadata.
