Net Cost Criterion

Net Cost Criterion means only expenditure undertaken for environmental protection purposes which leads to a net increase in cost (that is where spending exceeds any savings or income arising before the net cost was actually incurred) is included. When expenditure is recorded, this criterion only applies to operating expenditure. (Source: OECD)
