Nominal Capacity (or Nameplate Capacity or Capacity)

A Nominal Capacity (or Nameplate Capacity or Capacity) is a designed and installed capacity of the equipment, facility, or plant that is the theoretical output registered with authorities for classifying the unit. The Nominal Capacity is a maximum producing capacity under specified conditions that the full-load sustained output of a facility such as a power station, electric generator, chemical plant, refinery, and many others.
