An Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) is a gas turbine by which air is taken from the atmosphere, compressed in a centrifugal or axial-flow compressor, and then fed into a combustion chamber that is used for peak generation of electricity. Also, an OCGT is used in conjunction with a steam turbine in a combined cycle power plant. (Refer to the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT))
