Particle Size (or Grain Size)

Particle Size (or Grain Size) is the diameter or volume of the grains in a suspended sediment or sedimentary rock. The Particle Size classifications are: Clay < Silt < Sand < Gravel. Other Particles: solid – flecks; liquid – droplets; gaseous – bubbles. (Refer to the Particulate Matter (PM) or Particle Pollution)
