Performance Factor

A Performance Factor is a measure of efficiency or effectiveness of a system or process that is often expressed as a ratio or percentage and indicates how well a system or process is performing relative to its intended or optimal performance. The Performance Factor in the Project Schedule controls, is the ratio earned value (hours) / expended value (hours) that is used to chart productivity in terms of the control base. The Project meets planned progress in terms of budgeted costs if the factor equals one (1). Higher factors mean the project is ahead, while lower factors mean that the project is behind.
