A Private Limited Company (PLC) is a type of privately held small business entity whose shares are not traded on a stock market that offers limited liability, or legal protection for its shareholders, limits the number of shareholders to 50 people, and restricts shareholders from publicly trading shares. A PLC is the most popular type of UK company incorporation.
