Redox Reaction

A Redox Reaction (short for Reduction-Oxidation reaction) is a set of chemical reaction that involves both reduction and oxidation: reduction is the removal of oxygen from a substance in a reaction; oxidation is the addition of oxygen to a substance in a reaction, or the reaction of a substance with oxygen. The Redox Reaction is the fundamental in many chemical and biological processes, including energy production in batteries, corrosion, respiration, and photosynthesis.
