Safeguard

Safeguard is 1) a measure taken to protect from the harm or risk; 2) in Engineering, systems or administrative controls designed to prevent the causes or mitigates the consequences of deviations. (e.g., process alarms, interlocks, procedures); 3) in trading, importer’s right to impose temporary import restrictions to help protect its domestic industry.
