Sensitisation (Sensitization)

Sensitisation (Sensitization) is 1) a metallurgical state by certain heating, cooling, or cold working conditions that causes an alloy to be susceptible to intergranular corrosion or intergranular stress corrosion cracking in a specific environment in which the alloy would normally exhibit corrosion resistance; 2) the process by which repeated administration of a stimulus results in the progressive amplification of a response; 3) the process by which a person becomes to a substance through repeated exposure to that substance.
