Settlement Risk

Settlement Risk is the possibility that one or more parties failed to deliver at the agreed time frame based on the terms of a contract. The Settlement Risk is a general term used to designate the risk that arises when payments are not exchanged simultaneously, also the term covers factors incidental to the settlement process which may suspend or prevent a trade from completing and otherwise competent to perform.
