A Smart Grid is an intelligent electric power system that consists of controls, computers, automation, and new technologies and equipment working together with the electrical grid system (a network of transmission lines, substations, transformers and more that deliver electricity from the power plant to end users) to respond digitally to the quickly changing electric demand. The Smart Grid system allows two-way communication of electricity data, and enable real time data collection concerning electricity supply and demand during the transmission and distribution process.
