Fuel Oil

A Fuel Oil is a hydrocarbon substance obtained from petroleum distillation, either as a distillate or a residue. The Fuel Oil is any liquid petroleum product that is burned in a furnace or boiler for the generation of heat or used in an engine for the generation of power. Commercial fuel oils usually are blended with other petroleum fractions to produce the desired viscosity and flash point. Flash point is usually higher than kerosene, approximately 40 °C (104 °F). (Refer to the Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO); High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO); Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (LSFO); Ultra Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (ULSFO))
