Watt (W)

Watt (W) is the basic unit of electrical power that is a working power, actual power, active power, or real power defined as one joule per second. The Watt is the rate of energy transfer equivalent to one ampere under an electrical pressure of one volt. One Watt equals 1/746 horsepower. The Watt is named after the Scottish engineer James Watt that is the International Standard (SI) of Units of the electrical power: m^2 * kg * s^-3.

Kilowatt (kW) equals to 1 thousand Watts (W); Megawatt (MW) equals to 1 million Watts (W); Gigawatt (GW) equals to 1 billion Watts (W)
