Bandwagon Effect

The Bandwagon Effect is a psychological phenomenon of public opinion whereby people do something primarily because other people are doing that is defined as a tendency of people to affiliate with the winning side of a competition. The Bandwagon Effect has been shown to be so powerful that its effect has been observed in politics, public policy, and marketing. (Opposite of Underdog Effect)
