Building Heat-Loss Factor

A Building Heat-Loss Factor is the overall rate of heat loss from buildings by means of transmission, ventilation and infiltration through walls, windows, doors, ceilings, floors, etc., expressed in BTU per hour, per degree temperature difference between the inside and outside. The Heat Loss Factor is a measure of compactness and an indication of how much insulation will be required to achieve the standard requirement. (Refer to the U Value (Coefficient of Heat Transmission))
