Fallout is 1) the ground radiation released by soil, rocks and cosmic rays in the environment, or the radioactive particles that are carried into the atmosphere after a nuclear explosion and gradually fall back as dust or in precipitation; 2) the unpleasant results or effects of an action or event. (e.g. Political fallout after May wins vote. Critics rave about Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout)
