FinFET (Fin Field Effect Transistor)

A FinFET (Fin Field Effect Transistor) is a type of transistor design used in modern semiconductor technology that is a three-dimensional transistor structure improved performance and power efficiency compared to traditional planar transistor designs. The FinFET devices have significantly faster switching times and higher current density than planar CMOS (complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor) technology that is applied including home computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, wearables, high-end networks, automotive, and more.
