The Flare System includes the flare control valve, collection piping, the gas liquid scrubber, and gas vent used in industrial plants including petroleum refineries, chemical plants, natural gas processing plants, etc.

Reference Definition by Hse.gov.uk: A Flare stack is used to burn-off materials that are generated on-site but which can not be re-used or reclaimed. Under normal operating conditions a bright orange flame can be seen coming from a flare stack. However, if the combustion conditions are not optimised then dark smoke can be seen being released from the flare stack.
