Flash Crash

A Flash Crash is an event in electronic securities, stocks, bonds, or commodities markets when a market is a very rapid, deep, and volatile fall in prices occurring within minutes and then rebounds. They automatically react by selling their holdings to avoid further losses. (e.g. Flash Crash of Japanese Yen on 2nd January 2019, Yen crosses collapsed 3-5% in minutes as an enormous wave of yen buying swept through the market. The last time something like this happened was a flash crash in GBP after months of selling post-Brexit on 7th October 2016, there was a flash crash in the value of sterling, which dropped more than 6% in two minutes against the US dollar.)
