Harmonised System (HS)

Harmonised System (HS) is the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System that is a multipurpose international product nomenclature developed in 1988 and has since been developed and maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO) (formerly the Customs Co-operation Council). A HS is the commodity structure of external trade flows of goods that is an internationally standardised system of names and numbers to classify traded products.
